Jeanie Marie Buss has been an American businesswoman for more than 20 years. Buss is the founder and president of the Los Angeles Lakers National Basketball Association. Buss is a native of California has an impressive family background. Jerry Buss' father was an entrepreneur in real estate who later owned the Lakers as well as various other sports organizations. After her parents split up in 1972 she felt that they had abandoned her. As a 19-year-old, she took over management of the Los Angeles Strings professional Tennis team as the General Manager. After that, she established in the Los Angeles Blades team of professional roller hockey. She served as the president of the Great Western Forum, before becoming Vice President for the Lakers. Buss, her five brothers and sisters and their father who was the owner of the Lakers and was their controlling shareholder up to his passing away in 2013, received this ownership by way of the trust.
