Winona-Ryder
Winona Laura Horowitz professionally known by the name Winona Ryder is a native of Winona Minnesota. The parents of her daughter named her after her hometown. Michel Horowitz was her father and Cynthia Palmer, his mother are both authors and editors. Ryder's father comes from a Jewish family Ryder believes she is Jewish. The actress has a younger brother Uria and half-siblings Jubal as well as Sunyata. Ryder's family moved to Mendocino, California, when she was seven years aged. The family was in a house that didn't have electricity. Ryder became an avid books reader since there was no TV. In 1983 when she was twelve, Ryder took up a place at the American Conservatory Theatre to take acting classes. After she reached the age of 15 Ryder was offered a part in Lucas, her first major film. Ryder was bullied in the high school. Ryder hoped her career acting as a professional would help. Sadly that didn't happen. It was a dream she pursued. In 1988, she got her big break in Tim Burton's Beetlejuice. Ryder continued to play successful roles in numerous films. In 1993 she was nominated two times in the Academy Awards. One of them for her role as a character in The Age of Innocence.
